Richard Crowie Hall Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Thursday 14 August was hanging day for the SASA Members' 2 exhibition in the Richard Crowie Hall at Kirstenbosch.
We had a great selection of work, in a wide range of styles and media, which made hanging it all quite challenging, but thanks to those members who volunteered their services, we got it done relatively smoothly. By the time we welcomed our guests for the evening's opening event the exhibition looked lovely and peaceful.
The guest of honor was Emma Van Der Merwe, director and head curator at the Everard Read CIRCA Gallery. Emma gave the most wonderful opening address, sharing with us the intricacies of her profession and giving all sorts of very useful tips regarding getting our art "seen" - pretty much everything we really need to know! She invited, and answered - sometimes difficult - questions with diplomacy and tact. Thank you Emma, for your thought-provoking words.
....and thanks, as usual, to all those who volunteered their help with hanging and our hard-working council members, who made it all happen.
